A) Description

JouTube is a Content Plugin for Joomla that allows you to insert YouTube channels, playlists and videos in your articles by inserting a meta tag into a content text editor.

B) Installation and use

JouTube installation it’s very easy! You can install it directly from Joomla administration panel (how you can do with any other plugin) following these steps:

1. Login into http://yoursite.com/administrator
2. Select “Extension Manager” from “Extensions” in main menu
3. Select “Upload Package File” tab
4. Click on “Choose file” button and select joutube.zip from your download directory
5. Click on “Upload & Install”

Now you just have to activate the plugin from “Plugin Manager” in this way:

1. Select “Plugin Manager” from “Extensions” in main menu
2. Search “JouTube”
3. Click on “Enable plugin”

JouTube is ready! You’ll be able to insert YouTube contents in your articles. Insert into it one or more of following meta tags to embedding your contents:

C) Settings

Now you can configure the plugin. Below you will find a full explanation of all the parameters for the generic configuration of the plugin, all instances created in your site will refer to this configuration.

Also remember that you can customize the placement of individual video, channel and playlist via Inline parameters.
To customize JouTube go to “Plugin Manager” section via main menu, search JouTube an click on it. There are following settings:

1. Enable jQuery
   Enables or disables the import of the jQuery library in Joomla. It’s required to enable this if there are already other instances of this library.
2. Style
   You can select one of three styles ??available by default in JouTube (Light / Dark / Extra Dark).
3. Embedding video
   Specifies how to integrate the single video (and only for it) . “Embedded” is the classical import YouTube player directly in the article. ” Lightbox ” instead import a tab with the title, description , thumbnail and metadata that will be opening in fullscreen video.
4. Width (px)
   Sets the width in pixels of the player (accepts only integers).
5. Height (px)
   Sets the height in pixels of the player (accepts only integers).
6. Autoplay
   Sets the automatic start of the video when the page loaded or at the start of the lightbox.
7. Video per page
   Sets how many videos to show on each page for a single channel or playlist. This option is valid only for channels and playlists (accepts only integers).
8. Show title
   Enables or disables the display of the title.
9. Show description
   Enables or disables the display of the description.
10. Show rating
    Enables or disables the display of the rating.
11. Show duaration
    Enables or disables the display of the duration.
12. Views counter
    Enables or disables the display of the views counter.
13. Likes counter
    Enables or disables the display of the likes counter.
14. Comments counter
    Enables or disables the display of the comments counter.

D) Inline parameters

You can customize single video, channel and plylist by inline parameters. Inline parameters should be inserted into meta tags and should be separed by pipe character (|) from URL or Username. However you’ll find some examples to use correctly these parameters after following table:
