This Photoshop CS4 action will turn your ordinary photo into a vivid psychedelic triply artwork. You can use such art in a party flyer, it can be used as a background of a poster or a part of some more complex illustration.

Now lets focus on how it works.

• First of all for the best result you need a relatively big photograph – 2000×3000px approximately. This action will work with other sizes too, but the outcome might be unexpected.
• The more detailed the original image is the more interesting the result will be. Multi-toned blurry background with an object in focus in the center of the photograph is the best choice.
• Flatten your file before applying the action.
• After you’ve flattened the file go to Actions panel (Alt+F9 PC or Option+F9 Mac). From the drop down menu select “Load actions…”. Load the “Psychedelic photo coloring” action set wherever you have downloaded it to.
• After you have loaded “Psychedelic photo coloring” action set, it will appear in the bottom of the Actions window. Now you can select the the “Psychedelic photo coloring”, press play and enjoy the results!
• After the action stops you’ll get 3 layers. Turn off and on the upper two layers to adjust the images border and central texture.

The action was made in Photoshop CS4, but no special features were used in it, so probably it might work fine in earlier versions of Photoshop. But I do not guaranty that!
